Anoop Singh Bishnoi began his professional career in 1981. After completing his Baccalaureate in Economics at Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College, he undertook an MBA at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. For nearly two decades, He developed and promoted steel manufacturing facilities in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh before quickly turning to education when he joined the Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1992 for a 5-year tenure.

Anoop Singh Bishnoi began his professional career in 1981. After completing his Baccalaureate in Economics at Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College, he undertook an MBA at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. For nearly two decades, He developed and promoted steel manufacturing facilities in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh before quickly turning to education when he joined the Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1992 for a 5-year tenure.

Following his tenure at IIT Kanpur, he joined the Board of Governors of Welham Boys' School in Dehradun in 1998 for a 5-year term. In the same year, he also got appointed as a member of the Executive Committee of The Doon School's Doon Old Boys' School Society (DSOBS). Later in 2002, he was elected as the Vice President of the DSOBS, and then as a President in 2004.

In 2008, he was appointed Chairman of Friends of Round Square, India and Mid-Asia, a global association of schools that share a commitment to personal development and responsibility in addition to academic excellence. Working with school heads (from India, Dubai, Pakistan, Oman, and Bangladesh) to improve overall education, address regional social work needs, and instill a "self-help and serve society" ethic in all member schools and their constituents. In 2022, this society was renamed the Forum of Regional Schools, of which he is still Chairman.

Anoop Singh Bishnoi is currently the Chairman of the Board of Governors of The Doon School in Dehradun, as well as the Chairman of the Indian Public School Society (IPSS), which operates The Doon School. In the future, he hopes to develop learning models that give India's youth the tools and opportunities they need to reach their full potential. Furthermore, he is pursuing projects in the food-sector in Haryana and Punjab, with upcoming food parks in both states.
