Anoop Singh Bishnoi
​Born on 1st February 1960, Anoop Singh Bishnoi (although originally hailing from the agriculturally-rich areas in Punjab) spent his early childhood in New Delhi, and then at age 11 went to The Doon School, at Dehradun, a town nestled in the valley between the Himalayas and Shivaliks. After completing his schooling there in 1975, he did his Baccalaureate in Economics at Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College during 1976-79. Post his under graduation, he undertook an MBA at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, finishing this in 1981.
Professional Career
Anoop Singh Bishnoi
Anoop embarked on his professional career in the year 1981. During the next two decades he developed and promoted steel manufacturing facilities in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. He also set up distilleries in Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand & West Bengal. Furthermore, he is pursuing projects in the food sector in Haryana & Punjab with upcoming food parks in both states. In addition he is managing a 200 acre farm in Punjab and a 35 acre farm in Haryana with modern technological practices, and is also in the process of setting up agro-processing units.

However, his connection with education was rekindled in early 1990’s when he joined the Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1992 for a 5-year tenure.

Post his tenure at IIT, Kanpur, he joined the Board of Governors, Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun in 1998 again for a 5-year tenure.​​

In 1998, he joined the Executive Committee of the Doon Old Boys’ School Society (DSOBS) of The Doon School, Dehradun; a place where he spent most of his childhood years. In the year 2002, he became the Vice President of the DSOBS and in the year 2004, he became its President.

In 2008, he became Chairman, Friends of Round Square, India and Mid-Asia, a worldwide association of schools which share a commitment beyond academic excellence, by including personal development and responsibility. Working with school heads (from India, Dubai, Pakistan, Oman and Bangladesh) to improve overall education, address social work needs of various regions, impart a ‘self-help and serve society’ ethic amongst all member schools and their constituents. In 2022, this society transformed into the Forum of Regional Schools on which he continues as Chairman.

Anoop always says, "The only limit to your achievements' height is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work hard for them." As a member and Chairman of these esteemed societies, he looks forward to continuing his work on the issues close to her heart — supporting underprivileged families, helping children lead healthier lives and encouraging all our young people to fulfill their dreams through education.
